“I am shocked at the actual amount of damage bullfrogs are doing to not only the ecosystem but also to the California taxpayers who hold the burden of supporting the bullfrog importation industry.”
– Tommy Li, California
Meetings of the Bullfrog Action Group take place over Zoom. Fill out the Bullfrog Action Group registration form to get emailed login info prior to meetings. Meeting times are visible on the Events page.
During the meetings, we will meet others interested in the invasive bullfrog issue; brainstorm solutions; and determine actions we can take to reduce the impact and spread of non-native bullfrogs (Action is our middle name!).
You can meet other frog enthusiasts in the SAVE THE FROGS! Discord Community. We have a dedicated channel for the Bullfrog Action Group:

Here is the video of the August 18th, 2023 Bullfrog Action Group meeting.
During the meeting, we discussed and ranked the potential strategies offered by the California DFW Invasive Bullfrog & Turtle Working Group, which relate to education campaigns, localized eradication, ban on live bullfrog sales, ban on bullfrog imports, testing and monitoring, habitat improvement, and more. We discussed the importance of raising permit prices to deter bullfrog imports and improve funding for management programs; and we emphasize collaboration, research, enforcement, and partnerships to address bullfrog issues.
