Celebrating Save The Frogs Day: Inspiring Future Conservationists
A Frog House organized a memorable event for the 16th Annual Save The Frogs Day (Pittsfordās Sixth) on April 28th, 2024 at the beautiful home of Kara Kotwas and Mark Wochner. Despite the drizzling rain, over 100 guests attended, including a dedicated Girl Scout troop, supported by 25 enthusiastic volunteers. The event aimed to raise awareness about wetlands, particularly those in the Robert C. Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Preserve, and to rally support for a significant wetland renovation project. The day featured a variety of educational activities, interactive discussions, and creative stations that engaged attendees of all ages. Highlights included frogging at the nearby pond, scientific demonstrations, arts and crafts, and frog sound identification.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their enjoyment and newfound appreciation for nature. Thanks to generous donations, $494.61 was fundraised for SAVE THE FROGS!
“Kudos to Margot Fass for her dedication to environmental sustainability with a laser focus on the important role frogs play.” ā Sandra Frankel
