Event Schedule

A detailed event schedule will be announced close to the event date. Plan to be there on time, from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Here’s what you can expect…

The Million Frog March will feature speeches connecting environmental protection with democratic values, frog-themed music and poetry, educational conversations with fellow participants and curious tourists, creative signage and costumes, and a march from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument. We’ll provide educational materials, frog-themed gifts for participants, and plenty of opportunities to take photos and connect with like-minded advocates for frogs and democracy.

This is a family-friendly, peaceful gathering welcoming everyone from children to seniors, casual nature enthusiasts to dedicated activists. Whether you’re passionate about amphibians, environmental protection, democratic values, or all of the above – this event is for you. Bring your voice. Bring your friends. Let’s make history together!

SAVE THE FROGS! has a long history of organizing peaceful protests on behalf of amphibians. In Washington, DC we have protested at the steps of the US EPA to call for a ban on the use and production of Atrazine. In VA, MD, FL, NY and TX we’ve protested at restaurants that refused to stop serving frog legs. And on November 15th, 2025 we held the inaugural Million Frog March at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial (photo above).

Make It a Frog-Filled Weekend!

Traveling from out of town? Stay an extra day! We’re organizing additional events for Sunday, April 26th, including an indoor educational program and possibly an evening frog walk to observe actual frogs in the wild. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet fellow frog enthusiasts, learn more about amphibian conservation, and explore the DC metro region’s natural areas – all while supporting the movement. More details coming soon!

Why We Chose The Date (April 25th)

We selected Saturday, April 25, 2026 for several strategic reasons:

  • Optimal Planning Time:
The extended timeline allows us to organize a significantly larger, more impactful event than our inaugural march.
  • Ideal Weather:
Late April in Washington, DC typically offers beautiful spring weather, perfect for outdoor gathering and marching.
  • Connection to Save The Frogs Day:
The march takes place just four days before the 18th Annual Save The Frogs Day (April 28, 2026), allowing us to promote this global celebration of amphibian conservation to a wider audience.
  • Maximum Impact:
Participants will return home energized with new amphibian knowledge, connections, and inspiration – and in time to enhance the Save The Frogs Day events on Tuesday, April 28th that they organized in their own communities.

It’s the perfect synergy: march on Saturday, travel home Sunday, plan through Monday, and celebrate frogs on Tuesday!
