SAVE THE FROGS! Announces Historic Million Frog March
Democracy And Amphibian Conservation Converge At Lincoln Memorial
WASHINGTON — SAVE THE FROGS! today announced the Million Frog March, a historic, peaceful gathering uniting thousands of frog enthusiasts, environmental activists, and democracy advocates at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Nov. 15th, 2025, from 1-3 p.m.
The march calls attention to the critical connection between healthy democracies and healthy ecosystems. With amphibian species vanishing at alarming rates due to habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change, and democratic freedoms under unprecedented attack, the Million Frog March asserts that these threats are inseparable—and must be fought together.
“We’d rather croak than be silenced!” said SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger, who will deliver remarks at the event. “Frogs have become an unexpected symbol of peaceful resistance. This march is our opportunity to defend both democracy and the natural world we all depend on.”
The march will feature speeches from Dr. Kriger and guest speakers with expertise on democracy and the power of peaceful protest, alongside participants in frog and axolotl costumes, creative protest signs bridging democracy and conservation themes, and the collective voice of thousands saying: we will not be silenced, and neither will the frogs.
GLOBAL PARTICIPATION WELCOME
While the main gathering takes place at the Lincoln Memorial, SAVE THE FROGS! is calling on frog enthusiasts and activist organizations worldwide to organize independent satellite events in their cities on November 15th. No matter the size—from a small community gathering to a city-wide march—each event amplifies the message: healthy ecosystems need healthy democracies.
Organizations interested in hosting satellite events can register at www.savethefrogs.com/million and access organizing resources, promotional materials, and a platform to connect with fellow activists.
