How To Organize A Successful Save The Frogs Day Event

save the frogs day events

Invite some local reporters to your event

Save The Frogs Day makes great publicity, so please inform your local journalists and invite them to your event.

Fundraise for SAVE THE FROGS!

SAVE THE FROGS! relies on support from the public: we receive no government grants and get by on a fraction of what the large nonprofits have to work with. Your financial support is crucial to our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts, so we hope your Save The Frogs Day event has some fundraising aspect in addition to the educational side of things. Fundraising ideally starts before your event. If your event costs money, feel free to fundraise to cover your event costs (we welcome anything you raise in excess of your event costs!). We strongly encourage all groups to set up their own personalized fundraising webpages for the frogs.

Here are a lot of fundraising tips!

Make a Save The Frogs Day flyer

Flyers help promote your event and look great on our website as well, so if you make one, please be sure to email us the jpeg and/or PDF so we can add it to our website. Flyers should ideally have the SAVE THE FROGS! logo and/or Save The Frogs Day icon, and a big URL that says savethefrogs.com so people know where to learn more.

We have lots of downloadable flyers here.

Spell our name correctly

Our organization’s name is SAVE THE FROGS! and we would love it if you spelled it, capitalized it, and punctuated it exactly like that. In other words, we are not SAVE the Frog or any other permutation of the words…so please just copy, paste and use this:

SAVE THE FROGS!

Day Of The Event

Take Photos!

Save The Frogs Day will come and go, but if you get one good photo of your event – one that captures the essence of the day – that photo will inspire generations of frog savers and donors as well. Thus your Save The Frogs Day event photos are almost as important as the event itself. Please email your best photos (no bad photos please) to photos@savethefrogs.com and be sure to include your country state and city in the subject line. Try to get a picture of your group holding up a Save The Frogs Day banner or with something that says Save The Frogs Day or SAVE THE FROGS!. We suggest that prior to your event you enlist a dedicated, talented photographer to take photos.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #1: Group Photos

Make sure there is only a single camera taking a photo of your group at once, otherwise people’s eyes are looking different cameras and the photo is not as good as it could have been.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #2: Smile

Don’t forget to smile! You can tell everyone to yell SAVE THE FROGS! on the count of three.

Count how many people pass through your event

SAVE THE FROGS! and our donors like to know how many people are educated by our programs (volunteers and participants), so after your event we will be asking you to tell us how many people attended your event. It is fine to estimate…and if you keep in mind that you should be counting, your estimate will likely be fairly accurate!
