Introduction
Celebrate the 17th Annual Save The Frogs Day with A Frog House at the Robert C. Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Sanctuary in Pittsford, NY! A Frog House is a center for advocacy, collaboration, and education, dedicated to supporting amphibians and promoting ecological health in upstate New York.
This exciting three-day event, organized by longtime SAVE THE FROGS! member and activist Margot Fass, will focus on restoring critical amphibian habitats through the construction of three new frog ponds. World renowned wetlands biologist Tom Biebighauser will be on hand to lead the wetland restoration and educate participants about the art and science of wetland restoration.
The event begins on April 25th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the first symbolic shovel of dirt for Pond 1. Pond construction continues on April 26th and 27th with Ponds 2 and 3. Volunteers and donations are welcome to support these efforts to create lasting habitats for frogs and other wildlife. Collaborating organizations, including the Pachamama Alliance Rochester Area, Pittsford Garden Club, Rochester Ecology Partners, St. John Fisher Sustainability and the Village of Pittsford are also invited to participate.
Located on Village Lane in Pittsford, the Robert C. Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Sanctuary provides an ideal setting for this hands-on conservation project. Attendees will have the chance to dig, plant, and make a tangible difference for amphibians and the environment. The event is free and open to the public, making it a fantastic opportunity for community members to connect with nature and contribute to a global cause.
