Event Details
A Frog House is collaborating with Dave Will, a Seneca Park Zoo Naturalist and invasive species expert in charge of training personnel for Frog Watch USA Rochester, for their annual Save The Frogs Day event! The event will take place at A Frog House in Pittsford, NY on May 1st from 1 pm till 5 pm.
Mr. Will will share a wealth of information with participants including frog and toad “biofacts” from the zoo collection, including skeletons and other educational materials. His focus will be on the difficulties frogs and toads have, and how they interact with invasive species. He also teaches a standardized protocol to monitor wetland sites throughout the breeding season (February – August) and will help attendees download useful apps and use them on a hike from A Frog House to and within the Erie Canal Nature Preserve.
The activities will begin at A Frog House at 1 pm, where guests may browse the garden and socialize. At 2 pm, Mr. Will will lead guests on a two hour informative hike through the Erie Canal Nature Preserve. Guests will then return to A Frog House for refreshments.
Registration is required for this event and guests are encouraged to donate between $1 and $50. However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Visit this page for more information and to register for this event.
This event has been funded with a Save The Frogs Day Grant in the amount of $750.
