Save The Frogs Day Grants
Celebrated the last Saturday of April every year, Save The Frogs Day is the world’s largest day of amphibian education and conservation action. To ensure the success of our worldwide efforts, SAVE THE FROGS! offers Save The Frogs Day Grants to dedicated groups who are organizing Save The Frogs Day events and seeking financial assistance.
The total amount of disbursements each year is based on the financial support received from the SAVE THE FROGS! community, so we encourage and appreciate your donation to SAVE THE FROGS!.

What We Do And Do Not Fund
What we do and do not fund is clearly described on the SAVE THE FROGS! Grants page. We suggest you read it prior to applying.
As a brief summary, we fund projects that demonstrate a clear benefit to the conservation of amphibian populations. Projects could be centered around research, education, policy, and/or habitat. If your project is scientific research, how will you translate your science into action? Be sure to explain in your application.

Eligibility
- Save The Frogs Day Historical Involvement
- In the past, we limited Save The Frogs Day Grants to organizations or individuals who have organized, registered and reported at least one Save The Frogs Day event in the past. This was to ensure that grant recipients have the knowledge and dedication to hold a successful event.
- However, we have now opened up applications to any dedicated frog savers, regardless of whether you have held a Save The Frogs Day event in the past. Realize though that if this will be your first time organizing a Save The Frogs Day event, your application must be of very high quality (e.g. an excellent budget and well-thought out agenda).
- WITHIN THE USA & OUTSIDE THE USA
- Grants may be given to individuals or organizations within the USA.
- Outside the USA, grants will only be given to nonprofit organizations (e.g. NGO) or official educational organizations (e.g. school or university). Do not apply from outside the USA unless you are affiliated with a nonprofit or educational organization who would serve as the grant recipient.
- OFFICIAL MEMBERS OF SAVE THE FROGS!
- The applicant must be an official member of SAVE THE FROGS!.
- There are two ways to become a member:
- Visit the SAVE THE FROGS! Memberships page and set up a recurring monthly or annual donation to SAVE THE FROGS!; or
- Apply for a SAVE THE FROGS! Scholarship to get your membership fully covered (no cost).
- Membership has a variety of benefits, so if you care enough about frogs to apply for a grant, you should definitely become a member…plus you must be a member to be eligible for any SAVE THE FROGS! Grant.
Grant Writing Tip #2:
Always ensure you meet all eligibility requirements prior to applying. Contact the grantor if you ever have any questions about your eligibility.

Graphic Design & Printing
If you are requesting funds for graphic design or printing, you are strongly advised to submit the design, or a draft of it, with your application. If you don’t yet have any design ready, you should include the text that will be on the designs so that we have an idea of what you seek funds for. The more complete your design that you send us, the more likely it will be funded.
Your Program Agenda
Please provide an agenda for your event. The more detailed it is, the higher the likelihood your event gets funded. A good agenda states what will take place and at what time.
Example:
– 9am: Amphibian conservation presentation by Dr. Kerry Kriger
– 10am: Frog trivia & quiz
– 11am: Art Competition
– 12pm: Snacks
– 1pm: Photo Exhibit
– 2pm: Award Ceremony & Farewell
Total Time: 5.5 hours
If you are holding multiple events, you should include an agenda for each event.
Are You Visiting Schools?
If you are requesting funds to visit schools then you should provide a letter of support from the school(s) stating that:
(1) The school is hosting your event;
(2) The name of the contact at that school
(3) The total number of student attendees expected.
Ideally the letter would be on school letterhead.
The Details Matter: Read This!
How you write Save The Frogs Day is important. Please note that:
- SAVE THE FROGS! is our organization name.
It is capitalized (ALL CAPS), plural (FROGS, not FROG) and has an exclamation point (!). - Save The Frogs Day is the event name.
It is Title Case with no exclamation point, and plural (Frogs, NOT Frog).

Questions You Will Need To Answer
You can download this word document (last updated February 29th, 2024) to see the questions you will need to answer in the application. Always prepare your answers to a grant application BEFORE you enter them in to the application form; and always save your answers for future reference.

Prepare your answers when you have a place to think clearly.
About Your Budget
Do not submit a poorly prepared budget. Take 15 minutes to watch the budget discussion that begins at 47:20 into the February 20th, 2024 SAVE THE FROGS! Grants Discussion. Don’t make us guess how funds will be spent. Don’t have math errors. Don’t estimate or guess how much items cost. Do your research and request precise amounts, for necessary items that are clearly explained and are needed to accomplish the types of projects of interest to SAVE THE FROGS!.
Ready To Apply?
Thanks for organizing a Save The Frogs Day event!
Remember: not all proposals will be funded, but the best ones likely will be, so be sure to submit your most well-crafted proposal.
Best of luck and thank you for spreading amphibian awareness!
