A Halloween Tale
‘Twas Halloween night and the frogs were in fright
For creeping and crawling with no end in sight
Were the goblins and ghouls who followed no rules
Unleashed to cause problems by oblivious fools
At the edge of the darkness, impending danger looms
Threatening amphibians and sealing their dooms
Habitat destruction, a relentless force
Leaving them homeless, with no recourse
Chytrid fungus spreading, a silent killer
Infecting their skin, their fate growing grimmer
Pollution and pesticides poisoning their abode
A toxic burden they struggle to decode
Invasive species, intruders from afar
Disrupting ecosystems, leaving scars
Climate change and global warming’s daunting wrath
Altering habitats, pushing them down the path
And over-harvesting for trades that exploit
Leaving populations drained, their existence adroit
So on Halloween night, let us remember the plight
Of the frogs and their kin, in the face of this fight
For their survival depends on the choices we make
To protect their homes, for their future’s sake.
And if we act now, with no hesitation
Educate, take action, and make a donation
On dark Halloween nights in years to come
The frogs will still sing their triumphant hum!
