Introducing savethefrogs.com v5.0
Last week I completely rebuilt the SAVE THE FROGS! website. Websites are a lot like cars…they get old and out of date, and eventually it’s best to get a brand new one.
This is the fifth savethefrogs.com website I have built. The first site I built in Dreamweaver (2008); the second in Joomla (2017); the third, fourth and fifth in WordPress (2018, 2020, 2023). The new site is technologically superior to any of our previous sites, and I expect it to last for quite some time.
Among other things, the new site holds a CRM, learning management system, online store, donation and membership system, forms, marketing automation, email marketing, a blog, and an array of templates that I have built, which will make adding new content to the site a breeze. The site has multiple layers of security software, automated backups, and an exceptional search bar to help you find exactly what amphibious info you seek. You can set up a free account right here.
Oh, the new site looks pretty good too 🙂 Of course, you will likely notice a lot of incorrectly formatted pages for the near future. I migrated in about a thousand pages from the old site, and since the new site has a different theme and page building system, most of the pages require a re-format. I’m cleaning those pages up, which is just like giving a paint job to a brand new car.
You can keep up with major site updates through the #website channel in the SAVE THE FROGS! Discord Community, which is free to join.
You can report any site errors through our Feedback page, or contact us with anything that requires urgent attention.
You can join an upcoming Website Wednesdays event to learn web design and contribute to the improvement of the SAVE THE FROGS! Website.
Enjoy the new website, and be on the lookout for a lot of new frog-filled pages!
Another benefit of the new SAVE THE FROGS! website is that it reduces our technology bill by about $1,500 per year…or an estimated $15,000 over the course of the next decade! Just one more reason why when it comes to using your donation dollars wisely, SAVE THE FROGS! blows the big guys away!
