Save The Frogs Day 2024
The 16th Annual Save The Frogs Day was celebrated on April 28th, 2024. Over 100 in-person educational events took place in at least 14 countries (Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, Ecuador, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, United Kingdom and the USA), reaching at least 6,000 participants and volunteers. The online impact was significant as well, with a multitude of large organizations posting about the event to millions of combined followers.
Save The Frogs Day 2024 saw a diverse range of activities on every continent where amphibians exist, highlighting our supporters’ global commitment to amphibian conservation.

Save The Frogs Day In-Person Events
The 16th Annual Save The Frogs Day was celebrated with a variety of engaging and educational events across multiple countries. Each location offered unique activities tailored to raise awareness about the importance of amphibians and their conservation.
Save The Frogs Day in Buenos Aires
Argentina, Bangladesh and Brazil
In Argentina, the event in Buenos Aires included educational talks, art workshops, and family yoga at Station Park, all free of charge.
In Bangladesh, events included educational seminars, rallies, scientific discussions, eco-tours, and awareness programs in schools, involving a mix of hands-on activities, competitions, and community engagement.
In Brazil, events featured exhibitions, workshops, and interactive games aimed at educating the public about amphibian conservation.
Cameroon, Ecuador & India
In Cameroon, conservation talks focused on the Goliath frog, while Ecuador hosted an event in the Amazon lowlands organized by female herpetologists, with informative talks, games, and a night hike to observe frogs in their natural habitat.
In India, the celebrations spanned various locations with art contests, awareness talks, and workshops, reaching thousands of participants.

Mexico & Nepal
Mexico’s celebrations are spread across different states with a mix of academic and cultural activities aimed at the general public, including workshops and environmental education.
In Nepal, multiple organizations coordinated to conduct awareness campaigns, clean-up events, nature walks, and educational programs across various schools, engaging students and the local community in frog conservation efforts.
Pakistan
Save The Frogs Day in Pakistan comprised two events: a Seminar Day and a Field Day. On April 27, 2024, the Seminar Day at Trail-5, Margalla Hills National Park, Islamabad, saw 102 participants, including students and faculty from various universities, engaging in presentations on amphibian conservation.
Highlights included talks by local experts and Professor Dr. Amaël Borzée from Nanjing Forestry University, and a walk to observe local frog species. The Field Day on April 28, 2024, at Murree Kotli Sattian Kahuta National Park, involved a field trip with 20 participants to observe endemic frog species in their natural habitats. Despite inclement weather, the group observed several species and learned about their ecology and conservation, culminating in a hands-on experience that emphasized the importance of conservation efforts. Both events successfully raised awareness and inspired action for frog conservation.

United Kingdom & USA
In the United Kingdom, activities ranged from building frog hotels to educational stalls and dip netting for tadpoles, including a bioblitz at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, focusing on amphibian and reptile education.
In the USA, the 16th Annual Save The Frogs Day was marked by an Amphibian Adventure hike in the Utah desert at Dead Horse Point State Park, and a series of online events hosted by Dr. Kerry Kriger, including Q&A sessions, reunions, live interactions, and educational presentations, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of amphibians worldwide.
A Frog House organized its sixth Save The Frogs Day in Pittsford, NY, at the home of Kara Kotwas and Mark Wochner. Despite drizzling rain, over 100 guests attended, including a Girl Scout troop. The event aimed to raise awareness about wetlands in the Robert C. Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Preserve and mobilize support for a wetland renovation project. The day featured educational activities, presentations, and interactive discussions. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their enjoyment of the nature exploration and creative activities.

A Save The Frogs Day Message From Dr. Kriger To The Students Of West Bengal, India
SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger delivered this brief message to the students and attendees of SAVE THE FROGS! India’s 2024 Save The Frogs Day event held at Serampore College in West Bengal, India.
In celebration of the 16th Annual Save The Frogs Day, Colombian amphibian biologist Victor Araújo interviewed SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger at the Universidad de los Andes on April 26th, 2024. During the interview, Dr. Kriger discussed the goals of Save The Frogs Day, highlighting efforts to raise awareness about amphibian conservation and engage communities worldwide. The event was organized in collaboration with the Semillero Herpetológico UniAndes (SHUA), whose mission is to connect students and researchers interested in amphibians and reptiles, share knowledge, and promote herpetological studies through activities, outreach, and research projects.

Save The Frogs Day 2024 Online Events
SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger hosted a series of engaging online events for Save The Frogs Day 2024, offering a variety of sessions to educate, inspire, and connect amphibian enthusiasts worldwide.
The events kicked off Saturday April 27th with a Q&A session during which Dr. Kriger addressed a wide range of conservation questions. This was followed by the Ecotours Family Reunion reconnected participants from past ecotours in various countries. Members and Volunteers Meetings provided opportunities for engagement and input on future activities. Interactive sessions included Instagram Live and Twitter Spaces, allowing participants to ask questions and share knowledge in real-time.
Sunday’s events featured a Music Hour with performances by musicians inspired by amphibians, a Poetry Slam for frog-themed poetry recitals, and educational presentations such as “The Wild World Of Frogs” and “How We SAVE THE FROGS!”. Dr. Kriger also held Office Hours to offer personalized advice on conservation projects. The weekend concluded with an Amphibious Closing Ceremony, summarizing key insights and celebrating the collective efforts to protect amphibians.
