Why We Give Grants

Grant recipients help SAVE THE FROGS! accomplish our mission to protect amphibian populations and to promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. Grant recipients gain valuable environmental experience and improve their ability to receive grants from other funders. Grant recipients help SAVE THE FROGS! by sending in a well-written final report and excellent project/event photos that we can add to our website, newsletter and social media to inspire supporters to donate and participate.

What We Fund

  • Projects that provide clear benefit to amphibian populations.
  • Projects with an amphibian focus that promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife.
  • Environmental education related to amphibians.
  • Environmental journalism, graphic design, videos, art, books, podcasts, music and other communication media that raise awareness of amphibian issues or educate society about amphibians and ways to protect them.
  • Scientific research that has a clear conservation benefit
  • Habitat protection, creation and restoration.
  • Policy, campaigning, legislative and enforcement efforts.
  • Projects by nonprofit organizations based anywhere on the planet
  • Projects by individuals only if they are USA citizens.
  • Conference travel if you will be presenting (or running an informational table or event) AND your presentation has clear benefit to amphibians.
    • If you are not a USA citizen, you must be affiliated with a registered nonprofit, who would serve as the funding recipient.
  • Save The Frogs Day Events
  • Projects aimed at raising funds for SAVE THE FROGS!
  • Grant applications in which the budget has correct math; precise prices based on actual price research; and clearly explains why each item is being requested.

What We Do Not Fund

  • Projects that have no relation to amphibians.
  • Scientific research that does not have a clear conservation benefit.
  • Individuals outside the USA. We can only send funds internationally to nonprofit organizations (e.g. NGO’s, educational institutions, universities), so if you are based outside the USA, your project should be in partnership with a nonprofit that can serve as the fiscal recipient.
  • Projects that harm individual amphibians or amphibian populations.
  • Amphibian commerce, trade, transport, captive-raising or aquaculture.
  • Grant applications that have budgets containing mathematical errors or estimated prices. Always provide precise values based on actual investigation of true costs. Use Airtable, Excel or Sheets so that the software does the calculations for you.
