SAVE THE FROGS!
Bangladesh

SAVE THE FROGS! Bangladesh is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to protecting Bangladesh’s amphibian populations and to promoting a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. Bangladesh is home to 37 known species of amphibians, many of which are facing extreme threats due to the country’s dense human population. Habitat destruction and harmful pesticides are contributing to the decline of amphibians in Bangladesh. SAVE THE FROGS! Bangladesh is the first Asian branch of USA-based SAVE THE FROGS!, and has been actively raising awareness of amphibian issues in Bangladesh since 2009.

Video: A Friend Of Nature

Enjoy this video created by SAVE THE FROGS! Grant Recipient Sabit Hasan and the team of Isabela Foundation. Sabit has worked in amphibian research & conservation in Bangladesh since 2015. He received several Save The Frogs Day Grants for education and outreach awareness activities in Bangladesh. He runs a project on ‘Exploring amphibian diversity in Bangladesh’. Bangladesh is a land of heritage for amphibians but several anthropogenic threats (e.g. habitat destruction, hunting, use of insecticides, betel leaf plantation and Jhum cultivation) are causing amphibian population decline. We need to work together to save amphibians in Bangladesh!
